IT'S MAGIC!

Here is how simple it can be to find a new webhosting or internet dialup customer. So simple it is like magic!

This magic formula came to me a couple months ago while I was sitting on the balcony of our room in Jamaica, looking over the ocean. It was about 6 am, and I had awaken refreshed and ready to read my magazines and have my morning coffee. As I sipped my coffee and read, ideas kept flooding into my mind and I had to keep putting down the magazines to write them down. This was one of the ideas. Kelvin Brown had planted the seed in my mind for city directories years ago. Now I combined it with a very simple sales script, and a toll free number to do the sales for you, plus a link that would take the listee to a website selling your webhosting services if they did not have a website.

AND HERE IS THE MAGIC:
1. Contact a local business and tell them that you are the director for the local internet city/town web portal.

2. Tell them that they are entitled to a free listing.

3. Offer to take their details and list it for them.

4. You can contact them in person or over the telephone.

5. When the owner of the business reviews their free listing they will see your advertisements for your complete webmaster service, design, hosting, building the website, and maintenance for $69.00 per month, or more! Even better, if the owner did not have a website, the link on his listing goes to a page that says, "This business does not yet have a website" and then explains how they can get it from you.

6. When you call back to leave the web portal URL for the owner to inspect, you also leave your toll free number which explains all about your webmaster web hosting services.

If you choose to call your local businesses over the telephone from one business to another, you are not in violation of the The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) which allows Business-to-Business Calls, unless they involve the sale of nondurable office or cleaning supplies, which we do not. Get their business name, address, telephone, short description, and ask if they have a website.

Then ask the best way to call back and leave a message for the owner after you have completed the listing for the owner's approval.

You then put their listing on the web portal. If they do not have a website you put in a URL, similar to the one at http://www.sheridanwyoming.net/nowebsite.html except that it would be with your contact information. What this URL is for, is to help sell webhosting to those people that do not have a website.

You then call back and leave a short message for the owner that if he/she goes to your website and types in his business name in the search box he can review his listing. You can also tell him/her that you gave his/her business a priority listing so it will come up above other listings on the site when someone searches for a key word in their description.

In addition, you may also give them a toll free number to call that explains your services. We can provide a toll free number with a pre recorded message installed explaining how you can be their complete webmaster, offering hosting, website design, and installation for a low monthly price.

The business owner will at his convienience check out the listing. Naturally they will see your advertisements for webhosting on the website, and if they did not have a website their will be a URL for their business showing that takes them to nowebsite.html which agains explains your web hosting and design services.

This is a low pressure easy way to contact businesses, and owners appreciate this approach more than you realize.

Yes Maam, its at http://acmeanvils.com.(If they say they do not it does not matter, continue anyway).

Julie:
Thank you. I am the director for the local town internet directory and you are entitled to have a free listing for your business. What would be the address and phone number you want published? (Word it just like this. Do not ask if they want the listing, just assume and most the time they will take it.)

Acme Anvils:
Please use 101 Main St, Anytown, 1(614)555-5555

Julie:
And just a short description of your business also please?

Acme Anvils:
We sell the best Acme Anvils and they are made of 100% Iron. We have been in business for 20 years.

Julie:
Thank you Maam! Thats all I need. What is the best way to leave a voice mail for the owner to approve the listing once I install it for you?

Acme Anvils:
You can call back and leave a message with me, or his direct line is extension #555.

Julie:
Thank you Maam, you have been very helpful, have a nice day!

Ok so you are in and out real fast and you are not selling anything. Now you enter their information in your directory and you call back to leave a voice mail for the owner of Acme Anvils.

Acme Anvils Owner Voice mail:
This is the owner of Acme Anvils, please leave a message.

Julie:
This is Julie. I am the director for the local town internet directory and you are entitled to have a free listing for your business.

I spoke with your receptionist today and she gave me the information for your free listing. I would like you to review it to make sure it meets your approval. If you go to (list your domain) and type in Acme Anvils in the search box your listing will come up. I have given you a top listing for searches related to your business description.

I would also like you to call our toll free number at your convenience which explains our services. It is 1 800-555-555. Thank you!!

Thus ends the most powerful marketing tool you can have next to word of mouth! Your new business owner will look at the website to review their listing and will see your advertisement.

If your client did not have a website, their website link will take them to a page that explains your hosting services, and when they call your toll free number that will explain your hosting services also.
